Although she has experienced her share of problems, private investigator Gwenn Ramadge has never seen a situation as troublesome as that of her client Emma Trent. Police believe the twice widowed Trent is responsible for the deaths of both husbands. Unable to prove anything when her first husband died, the police are determined to nail her now for the death of number two, despite scant physical evidence.
